Golden hour

With Golden Hour, I wanted to explore the warmth of light on the body and the quiet intimacy of a reclining figure. I brought together ochre, terracotta and muted mauve, using expressive brushwork and broad areas of colour to suggest form without defining every detail.

For me, this piece is about a moment of stillness—the body at ease, held in warm light. I wanted to leave room for the viewer’s own feelings and associations, allowing the figure to sit somewhere between observation and abstraction.
